About Us

The Evanston Chamber of Commerce was founded in 1921and is the only non-profit business organization in the region solely supported by private industry. The Chamber provides leadership and services for its more than 450 member companies who represent the diverse economy of the Evanston region. The Chamber fosters a competitive business climate conducive to growth, prosperity and maintaining a high quality of life.

The Chamber membership represents the six sectors of the Evanston economy: manufacturing, services, retail, high-tech, health care and educational institutions, and the hospitality industry. The Chamber's policies and public positions are set by a 22-person board that meets monthly. Each year a program of work and budget is created by the board to guide the organization's efforts. Since most businesses in Evanston are small in size (fewer than 50 employees), that is where The Chamber focuses most of its resources.
