First Night Evanston 2014
FIRST NIGHT EVANSTON
DEC.31, 2014
2014 First Night Evanston, a musical and live performance New Year’s Eve celebration. Families, hipsters, grandparents and kids will all find something they love among the 40 musical and theatrical performances. And even a chilly New Year's Eve will be welcome, as visitors have just a short walk between the seven indoor venues located within walking distance of Evanston's Raymond Park, which is bordered by Chicago and Hinman Avenues and Lake and Grove Streets. Outdoors, there will be ice sculptures to amaze you and food trucks to sustain you.
Updates for the 2014 event will be posted here as locations and acts are confirmed or check the First Night Evanston web site or find them on Facebook.
First Night Evanston, an alcohol-free celebration of the arts, began in 1992. Attendance at First Night peaked in the year 2000 with more than 10,000 people. However, due to cuts in grant money and too few corporate sponsorships, the event was cancelled in 2008.
Organizers are excited about bringing back this event. First Night is an independent, volunteer-run organization. To support the return of this beloved community event, through a donation, business sponsorship or volunteering, please email info@firstnightevanston.org or volunteer directly at volunteerevanston.org.
